Peter Shaw

After growing up in Tasmania, Australia where he was born, Peter came to Canada to teach in 1969. Singing and entertaining was a sideline until he retired from teaching in 1998. Since then he has entertained in over 250 retirement homes in Ontario, Canada and continues to travel many miles to sing and play for all kinds of functions.

Peter Shaw has been entertaining audiences in the Toronto area for many years at pubs, taverns, banquets and weddings. He plays a 12 string guitar and his baritone voice has sometimes been compared to Roger Whittaker.

He was honored to be chosen to sing at Roy Thomson Hall, Toronto in 2007 and 2008 as part of the Seniors Jubilee .

In 2013 Peter was one of ten finalists from across Canada in the Chartwell Senior Star

On his regular visits to Australia Peter has performed in many locations.

In January 1999 he was asked to provide music in the foyer of Australia’s Parliament House in Canberra during Australia Day Celebrations.

From market places to retirement homes he entertains with his repertoire of popular songs.
